Who are the lifesize figures that accompany the panels?

To honour the spirit of Britain at War and D-Day, we are proud to present nine life-sized representations of real WWII heroes, each with a unique connection to the artisans bringing them to life. Through our craftsmanship, we aim to pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of these remarkable individuals. Each figure will be accompanied by captivating stories and fascinating facts about their lives and contributions during the war. Soon, you’ll have the chance to meet: - Reg, the American Screaming Eagle - Michael, a British submariner - Daphne, a land girl with a vital role - Lilian Agnes, a dedicated ATS volunteer - Johnnie, a Spitfire pilot, and his loyal dog - Gillian, a courageous London firefighter - William, a wartime photographer - Piper Bill Millin, the legendary bagpiper.    This collection celebrates their incredible legacies and brings history to life like never before.

How long does it take to create a panel

While we don’t have exact statistics on the time required to create a panel, we know it’s a meticulous process that takes hundreds of hours. Each panel involves in-depth research, detailed modeling, precise knitting or crocheting, and skillful assembly to achieve perfection. Some panels are the result of an individual’s dedication and craftsmanship, while others showcase the collective talents and collaboration of a group.
